Can training help workers change their stripes? Retraining and career change in the UK

In light of the disruption to the labour market in the UK due to the coronavirus pandemic, a new report from The Resolution Foundation explores the possibility of adult education and retraining in order to assist recently unemployed people back into work, or change the industry they work in.

The report concludes retraining policies should be sector focused with the underlying aim of job-creation, and a long-term strategy to tackle unemployment needs to be in place to reduce the impact of the coronavirus crisis.
