Guidance Update: COVID-19 easements for ESF participant verification

The Managing Authority has confirmed easements put in place for European Social Fund (ESF) participant verification due to COVID-19 will remain in place until the end of the ESF programme.

Due to COVID-19 many people moved to working remotely from home so completion and processing of documents needing wet signatures proved difficult. Contact with participants was unable to continue face to face because of government restrictions, and so interventions were also adapted to continue providing support remotely.

In response, the Managing Authority allowed electronic signatures in place of wet signatures for participant verification and also the acceptance of verification by alternative means, such as email.

An action note has now confirmed these methods will be eligible for the remainder of the Programme.
