Production, technology & working anywhere

The global financial crisis left a significant impression on business in the UK. While every country has seen a slowdown in productivity, the UK has been particularly slow to recover, and the gap with competing economies are getting wider. Businesses face increasing pressures from ongoing developments in a global economy and rapid advances in technology; however, while there has been plenty of research into the disruptive effects of technology, there has been less focus on how technology enriches work and can enable people to work in smarter, more effective ways.

This report from the Work Foundation addresses this imbalance, examining how businesses using digitally enhanced working are more likely to succeed, and how adoption of digital technologies can drive productivity.
