CASE STUDY: How European Funding is helping The WEA to tackle unemployment in the Liverpool City Region

Suzanne AllenBlog & News

Our partners at the WEA (Workers’ Educational Association) are the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of adult education in England and Scotland. Their support has been vital to breathing new life into communities and helping individuals to build more positive futures and access full-time employment.

European Funding has played a huge part in enabling the positive outcomes which adult learning and education can bring. Below is a great example of how money from the European Social Fund is helping the Third Sector to deliver such transformative services.

Unemployment rates in the Liverpool City Region are three and a half times higher than the national average, but these two inspiring projects from the WEA are transforming the lives of its participants. Working with partners in the region, the WEA has provided learning opportunities for those furthest from the labour market, equipping them with key skills to find employment and build better lives.

WATCH the video below to find out how The WEA is using European Funding, in addition to support from the National Lottery, to make this happen…
