The New Economics Foundation new pamphlet ‘an economy for the people, by the people’comes in response to forecasts that the past decade of wage stagnation is set to continue until deep into the 2020s, making this the longest period in which people have not seen their quality of life improve for more than 150 years .
The New Economics Foundation believe there are six systemic changes that will create the stepping stones for a new economy rooted in a thriving and healthy environment, which works for people and the planet, these are:
- A Purposeful Economy
- Urgent Green Transition
- More Worker Power
- Homes for all
- Decent Quality of Life
- A Digital Revolution
